Re: Get a virtual table of dates from a selected date in a slicer

Why do you want to do this? When you say it is a table, do you mean pivot table, or something else? Are you using Power BI desktop or something else? There is no function SelectVale. Do you mean Selectedvalue?

Re: Pivot Table count dates older than x days

1,3,4 seem viable. You could use Power Query to load your data from the source and add a helper column. This would prevent the need for ongoing manual intervention. If that is new to you too, you could check out the free videos in my training course for inspiration. https://exceleratorbi.com.au/powe...

Re: current and prior 3 quarters have sales>0

Hi Bob, haven't seen you around for a while. Firstly, your Quarter ID column is actually a YYYYQQ column. I renamed it to that. Then I created a quarter ID column as follows QuarterID = (Dates[Year] - 2014)*4 + right(Dates[Quarter],1) Now I have an integer ID for quarter, I wrote the following Test ...

Re: want to return table with same filter context except for 1 change?

It is really hard to help as there is a lot to absorb and reading your post and trying to understanding conceptually what is happening at the same time is difficult. I assume you don't have a hire date, otherwise you wouldn't do it this way. so how does your data table work? Do you have multiple rec...

Re: Combining Demand table with date table

Yes, Power Pivot is a great tool for this The first thing you should do is unpivot your first table. You need a table shape like this Part No, Order No, Qty abc, 123,10 def, 123,3 etc This will be your data table Load both of your tables to Power Pivot. The second table is your lookup table. Join th...

Re: Finding Value of "add a product" Marketing Campaign

From what I can see, your measure returns the count of new sales events (what ever a row is in your table) cumulative since the promotion started (thanks to your slicer filter). Assuming that is correct, why not just replace countrows(table) with sum(table[salesvaluecolumn])

Re: Hello and Quick Question

It can definitely do what you want. Instead of vlookup, you load the lookup tables and then create relationships. Instead of if statements, you can use Power Query on load to improve the categorisation of the data.

read towards the end of this article I wrote https://exceleratorbi.com.au/getting-st ... ax-studio/

"Move your query to Excel".

From there, you can add the table back to the data model using "Add to Data Model"

Re: Previous row / overcoming circular reference

Maybe you can do it in Power Query to make it easier. Check out my video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN2IRXQ2CvI
