### Re: PowerBI calculation problem

I’m willing to take a look, but can you please
1. create a sample file including your formulas
2. Change the table names and column names to English (for context)
3. Show the answer you are expecting and where it is wrong.

### Re: Time Intelligence webinar- Evaluation of Year to Date Totals

It's not easy, but stick with it. Being able to ask questions definitely helps. Firstly, I don't know what formula you have for Total Sales YTD with ALL and MAX , but it is not correctly calculating YTD sales. This is the correct formula Sales YTD = CALCULATE ( [Total Sales], FILTER ( ALL &#...

### Re: Time Intelligence webinar- Evaluation of Year to Date Totals

Very good questions - this shows me that you are indeed thinking carefully about what is happening and that you want to understand. It is not intuitive, which is why it helps to have someone explain it. I will answer this question in my blog tomorrow morning (about 19 hours from now). https://excele...

### Re: PQ or PP for joins??

Hi Suzy, I realise this is an old question. My view is transformations are best done closer to the source where needed. I can’t say if you “need” these transformations, but if you do, then do them in the source system first (if possible), then PQ, then PP. Have a read of Chris Webb’s article on one ...

### Re: how to multiply different columns with a dax measure[Solved]

this is very tough - I guess you know that already. I have no idea what that formula does but I know a lot about Power Pivot. I am willing to try to help you if you work with me on the problem. Please do the following. 1. create a sample excel workbook that contains the sample data. 2. load the data...

I don't really understand, but you may find this article I wrote a couple of weeks ago useful - it seems like the principles are similar. You may be able to work it out from there.

### Re: How to decide what to use?

Interesting problem. It is hard for me to give you clear advice on this despite the detail you have provided. Power Pivot is great for working over large tables of data. Excel is great for working on bespoke calculations. If you can load data into tables for processing, then Power Pivot it is great,...
