Re: Simple If command not working

Thanks Matt. The actual measure had the correct brackets. The problem turned out to have something to do with the Data Type of the "Factor Required_column". I had made sure it was text but never got it to correctly recognize the "Y" character. Once I changed it to Data Type Decim...

I have a simple Fact table that has a column Fact_Required with "Y" in some rows. I would like to run a specific measure if the value in Fact_Required = Y and another if it is blank or 0. I tried using the following but get an error: Monthly Dividend_2:=if(FactData[Factor_Required]="Y...

Importing PowerPivot created in Excel into Power BIDesktop

I have been doing a bit of work with PowerPivot in excel and have created a number of fairly sophisticated Models and reports using DAX measures. Having read all the good stuff about Power Bi, I have decided that its time for me to get on board and learn how it all comes together in BI. However I ha...

Re: Grouping selections on a slicer

Hi Owen That worked fine Neat. Took me a while to figure out what was going on in the Pivot. I don't believe in magic, but at first glance this sure looked like magic. LOL Then I I realized that you were simple having the table show 36 rows for each month. I will continue with your first suggestion ...

Re: Grouping selections on a slicer

Hi Owen
Your example does look simpler to implement with each measure. Unfortunately I was not able to actually look at your structure as the download did not show table DimMonth. I was also not able to open the PowerPivot Window.

Thanks

Re: Grouping selections on a slicer

Hi again Ozeroth Your suggested has worked really well, but I have one more question. is it possible to have the filter apply to all measures in the Pivot with out having to apply individually to each measure. I have a number of graphs and each graph has a number of measures associated with it, whic...

Re: Grouping selections on a slicer

Hi Ozeroth

Thanks sooo much. That has worked like a charm. ( Changed to -36 and used the EndOfMonth instead of StartOFMonth) So simple. Why didn't I do that in the first place. LOL. I had tried a similar approach, but could not quite get it to work.

Thank you
