15. Customers that have purchased. Conditional Formatting.

Postby PaulInSydney » Fri Jan 06, 2017 10:27 am

Hello,

When I get to the part where I have sorted the order of the Customer that have purchased, and then told to pull the Calendar[CalendarYear] into columns, my result is the same figures under all the years, in other words all the year columns are the same as the 'Customers that have purchased' column. I cant work out where I have gone wrong.

Regards,
P.

Worked it out, I made a similar mistake to the one in the thread, Page 47 Example Year Doesn't show. In the real world, how would we work out we have the correct relationships when faced with new data?

Regards,
Paul.

Hi Paul

I'm not clear on the issue. Do you have relationships between all 4 lookup tables and the data table? You should only have to do this once and the rest should work.

HI Matt,

I think the mistake I have been making is when the book tells me to create a new pivot table, I am recreating the whole thing including the tables, rather than just creating a new pivot table within the existing spreadsheet! Totally new to this, so just working out how the book works (which I am really enjoying by the way!).

Regards,
P.
