Is this the correct matrix?

The measure for mSelectedDate% is similar to the answer on p181 but not showing the relative %?
While mTotalSelectedDate% is working fine.

An excellent observation! I have thought about this one for a while:

You have the correct matrix, but perhaps not the correct slicer.

The example on page 99 of Supercharge Power BI uses a slicer with a column from the same table (Customers[Occupation]) as the column used on the rows of the pivot (Customers[NumberCarsOwned]). However, in your example, the date slicer belongs to a calendar table that has no presence inside of the pivot.

This may sound like splitting hairs, but I think the point is valid. Other places I have seen ALLSELECTED used would include parent tables of the column that was used on pivot/matrix rows, but Calendar is on the other side of a many-to-many relationship with Customers.

Marco Russo and Alberto Ferrari, authors of the Definitive Guide to DAX, have said that ALLSELECTED is a dangerous function that is only valid in specific instances, as the current example may show.

Thanks for the insight

I can confirm #49 & #50 p99 works fine - used "Manual" in the slicer below

Just need to work out how to fix #51 & #52 now
