Connecting to SQL Azure

Postby a68tbird » Sat Apr 09, 2016 6:45 am

Hi,
I'm attempting to make an SQL Azure Database connection, however I'm getting the following error:

Unable to retrieve list of databases. Reason: Failed to connect to the server. Reason: The server principal "foo" is not able to access the database "otherfoo" under the current security context.

I'm using the same connection credentials that I have through LINQpad and SSRS. Any ideas why I would be refused through PowerPivot? Are there some Advanced configurations that I should be checking?

Thanks
Travis

I personally have never done this, but I don't see any reason why you would be getting this issue. There are no advanced settings that I am aware of. remote connectivity can be a challenge in my experience. I would be trying to find an Azure expert to trouble shoot the problem. You could also try to do this in Power BI desktop and see if you get the same issue.
