Consolidate multiple Access files from folder

Postby rolo » Wed Feb 22, 2017 12:25 am

Hi again Matt,

First of all I have subscribed to receive info on your upcoming PQ training...You explain things very clear!

And now my question:

I have many access files (all the same). I have tried to consolidate them with PQ using "From Folder" option
The problem is that after checking the tables I will consolidate, it only shows one access file!

I am doing something wrong? Why I can´t consolidate multiple access files?

Best regards
Rolo

Hi Rolo

I see no reason why this technique I have blogged about here wont work. http://exceleratorbi.com.au/combine-exc ... -method-1/

This article describes to bring in 1 Excel file, turn it into a function and then use "from folders" to combine all the files. The same should work with Access. Process one access file to bring in the data you want, turn it into a function and then pass the list of file names to it.

See how you go.
