Same Query in 2 files don't match - Why??

Postby sheidari » Wed Jun 14, 2017 2:59 am

I have a workbook with a query named "Consolidation" that I created in PQ. This query is a consolidation of 5 other queries within the same workbook. I then create a new workbook and try to pull in the "Consolidation" query from the other file, but the data doesn't match. I've gone through it step by step to troubleshoot but I'm completely baffled. If I even create a new query from the consolidation query within the same file, i still have mismatching data.

Has anyone experienced this before?

There is normally a logical explanation, and my best guess is that something is different. Clearly you have tried to find it and haven't, but it must be something.

I then create a new workbook and try to pull in the "Consolidation" query from the other file, but the data doesn't match.

What do you mean by this?

Why don't you just copy the query from the first workbook (right click on the query in the queries, pane and copy - it should also automatically copy the president queries automatically) and then paste it in the new workbook.
