Loading data from Salesforce?

Postby Alice » Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:26 pm

Hi everyone,

Is there a way for the Power Pivot to load from a Salesforce Report?

What I do at the moment is have PowerQuery connected to the report, and select 'add to data model' when creating the query. But perhaps there's a better way - cut out the PowerQuery middleman?

The 'learn Dax' book only seems to cover the Access Database source type, that's why I ask :(

Big thanks,

Alice

There is no way to avoid Power Query as this is the tool that connects to the data source. Power Query has 2 connection options for Salesforce (\Online Services\Salesforce Objects and \Online Services\Salesforce Reports) so I assume one of these will work. Just keep in mind that Power Query IS the tool used to connect to your data source
