LOOKUPVALUE formula

Postby qwerty » Sat Apr 29, 2017 12:44 pm

This formula is returning a #ERROR. Its the first time i have written this type of formula so think i may be missing something

=LOOKUPVALUE('leave balances'[Total Entitlement],'leave balances'[ID Number],[Employee ID],"Sick")

in excel i guess i would have used the vlookup match formula but cant quite work this one out.
I have a table with leave balances by type in the one column so sick, annual and a number in the total entitlement column. I need to compare this to leave taken so thought I could link this info to the employee details table in a couple of calculated columns one for sick and one for annual. Then I could use this in pivot table comparisons. I might be tackling this the wrong way though so any advice would be appreciated.
