Re: Earlier

Assuming you've got your calendar table setup correctly, and you filters on your pivot (FECHA FOTO and Ano Query) are the fields from your calendar table NOT the data table I assume you've provided the screenshot of, then there shouldn't be any need to have a filter in the SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR. So if ...

Hi Tendo,

If you can provide some sample data, with all your measures/relationships in place as per your 'live' data set it'll make it a lot easier to help you out.

Re: Evaluation context challenge for sales variance % from first to last time selected

Hi Eric, First up a bit of a caveat/apology in advance if I'm completely on the wrong path, as I'm only using Excel 2010 so can't have a look at your pbix file, nor can I use VAR to check my thoughts in PP. Having said that, I suspect that the problem comes about when you're setting the variables in...

Re: Dynamic calculation of Multiple Currency via slicer

I'm only using Excel 2010 so can't look at your PP data model, however the attached file has a version that works. First I'd flatten your exchange rate table (I did this with the unpivot function in Power Query) so you've got 3 columns - Rate, Country/Currency and Rate - and add it, your sales table...

Re: Only show Months for some Calculations

Assuming you want blanks for the YTD measures in the non 'last' months on your PT, one way would be to have a Boolean measure that checks if the month in the current row on the PT is the last month and then incorporate this into your YTD measure calcs. You could do this using ALLSELECTED on your Mon...

Re: Slicer behaviour in Excel (Powerpivot) vs Power BI

Having thought about it a bit more, I wonder if it's due to the fact you can setup relationships as many to many in PowerBI vs only one to many in Excel? Are your PBI relationships many to many?

Re: datediff

You say you have a pivot table with those rows/values, what does the actual data table look like in PowerPivot (can you give some dummy or sample data)? And in terms of the calculation, is it literally just going to be the difference between the date in the current row displayed on the pivot and the...

Re: Slicer behaviour in Excel (Powerpivot) vs Power BI

Can't comment on why there's a difference between Excel and PowerBI, as I haven't used the latter, however I believe the 'problem' in Excel is that until there's a measure placed in the PT nothingw ill be filtered (unless you physically make a filter selection on a row or column field), even if you ...

Dynamic Columns (slicer/mdx driven) not resizing

Hi, Possibly not quite the right forum to post in (as it's possibly more an 'Excel' or perhaps MDX issue, but I expect this one probably has the most traffic so I'll give it a shot (plus it's a PP based PT, so it kinda fits). Anyway, I've got a PT with a number of slicers, some of which just filter ...
