Re: DAX code to track project progress as at reporting date

Thanks for your response. The report that I created works fine when the appropriate filters are chosen What I am trying to achieve is a visual in which, with no filters acting anywhere, eg.- when no date is selected in the Report As At slicer, by default, the visual should display the correct number...

DAX code to track project progress as at reporting date

Hi all, Edit 25/10/2018 : I have posted my query at MrExcel.com as well, in the hopes that I can find a solution sooner. Re: Time Intelligence webinar- Evaluation of Year to Date Totals

Hi Matt, Sorry, I should have been more clear when I replied. I was just testing some stuff out to see try and see how the result changes with different formulas. I had a few measures without the ALL and MAX functions as well I will read your explanation a couple of times. Also been reading Rob Coll...

Re: Time Intelligence webinar- Evaluation of Year to Date Totals

Hi Matt, Thanks for the blog. To be honest, I am still confounded by this. Everytime I think of the initial filter context affecting only the FILTER function as explained in your blog, the ALL function pops into my head and I think of the entire table and that really messes things up for me Going to...

Time Intelligence webinar- Evaluation of Year to Date Totals

Hi Matt, This is in reference to your recent time intelligence webinar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ju_JURCHA6o&t=2395s (around the 40 min mark in the video) I am getting confused around how the filtering works in the evaluation of the Sales YTD code Sales YTD = Calculate ( [Total Sales],...

Re: Slicer behaviour in Excel (Powerpivot) vs Power BI

Thanks Ben, that is what I am not able to understand - why the slicers filter data in Power BI even when there is nothing added to the values field but in excel it does not unless the slicers are added from the same table

Slicer behaviour in Excel (Powerpivot) vs Power BI

There exists a relationship between DataTable_Letter --->LookTable_letter My question is when I add the DataTable_letter from the fact table to the Rows, and add a LookT...
