Relationship Cardinality

Postby JanaM » Wed Feb 28, 2018 4:17 am

I've encountered an error message I have not seen before and can't quite figure out what's happening. I have two quite simple tables and need a relationship between "Source.Name" in each table. The error I get when trying to relate the tables is

"Query (1,181) The dimension "[Source.Name_Cardinality}" was not found in the cube when the string, [Source.Name_Cardinality], was parsed".

Can someone tell me what is happening here? One thing to note - The Source-Name field started out with .xlsx extension and some "-" characters. I've replaced those, thinking that might be the issue, but still get the error.

I've attached a simple extraction of my data for reference.

Thanks in advance for any assist.

OK - I changed the column names to exclude the "." and now the relationship works. I'd still like to know why if anyone is willing to explain.

Very strange. I will be at Microsoft next week. I will add this to the list of things to follow up on (unless someone else knows.
