Finding The Right Schema - Data Model

Postby Jonny1010101010 » Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:30 pm

Hi all,

I'm trying to best schema for my product costing model. The complicating factor for me is that I have a large amount of fact tables which will be extending over time - each month there will be a new set of products, recipes, prices, etc which will relate to one together in their composite time dimension (eg. August 2019, or January 2020).

I'd attached a set of dummy data (in Excel) and attached a pbix file showing how I'm linking the information currently.

When I try and introduce other bridge tables (for instance a Product dimension table) things seem to fall apart. Would anyone have advice on what I should do re. the schema?

Thanks,
