Expression error when filtering on Conditional Column

Postby Jimmerding » Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:51 am

Hi all,

Complete novice here. Trying to create a simple conditional column, then filter on it.

Logic is:

If
Column A contains "Cancelled During Trial period",
then "LOST",
else *Column B*

Then filter the whole query on Col B value "LOST".

I can get everything to work fine up until I filter the column on LOST, at which point I get the error "Expression Error: we cannot convert the type Null to type logical" even though there aren't any null values...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! is it not possible to filter the data on a conditional column you create within the query?

Hi Jimmerding

Then filter the whole query on Col B value "LOST".

Did you mean to say Column B for the final filter, or the new conditional column?

Are either Column A or B set as data type Any? If so, convert to Text above the creation of the Conditional column. See if that helps.

Cheers
