Only Fact Table on the Model

Postby TonyAMP » Fri Sep 20, 2019 1:11 pm

Hello dear,

I am a DAX newbie and would like to know if it is possible to use a data model with only a denormalized fact table and a calendar fact.
Within the fact table, there are 20 columns.

I know it is wise for me to slice the fact table and some more dimensions, but I had this question.

Is it possible to work DAX on this model? What problems can I encounter?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. You can use a single flat table if you want. The best design is a star schema. Generally it is the best trade off for compression, efficiency and simplicity With the DAX.
