Relationship issue

Postby Franz » Mon Dec 16, 2019 6:32 pm

Hi

I have a relationship issue and cannot figure out what is causing it :-(

I want to connect the tables "FTE" and "WBS". The table "CATS" tells me how the entries are linked. There is an additional issue in the sense that WBS is only linked on an aggregated level (WBS Code) i.e. there is a many to many relationship for which I inserted a List of unique entries.

I don't actually need to calculate anything, I just need list of combinations.

Many thanks for any tips on how to solve my problem.

Regards
Franz

Can you share a sample workbook?

Want to look at the data and then look at the relationships to resolve the issue

Thanks

You can actually merge the data before loading into data model using Power Query (Get Data -> Transform Data).
I have given the solution in the attached workbook
You can see the final data table loaded into Excel

Hope this helps

Hi Ramana

Many thanks for your help.
Your solution is actually quite simple and straight forward.
I got somehow stuck with the idea that this should be solvable with relationships. Your idea is smarter.

Best regards
Franz
